Publisher and controller
Pulsark is developed and published by VAAG Fabrikat AS, org. no. 933 025 918, Austevågen 26, 5354 Straume, Norway.
In short
Pulsark collects no data that identifies you. The app has no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. The only data that leaves the device is crash and diagnostic reports without name or contact details.
What you make stays on your device
Projects, samples, sound banks, recordings and settings are stored locally in the app’s own container and in a container shared with the Pulsark plug-in, so your host finds the same files. Nothing leaves the device unless you export or share it yourself. Deleting the app deletes all of it.
Microphone
Pulsark asks for microphone access only when you record a sample. The audio goes straight into your project on the device. We never receive recordings. You can revoke access in Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone.
Crash and diagnostic reports
To find and fix bugs, Pulsark uses Sentry (Functional Software, Inc.), with data stored in Sentry’s EU region in Germany. When the app crashes, hangs or hits an audio fault, it sends an anonymous report with the stack trace, device model, operating system and app version, free memory and storage, and audio diagnostics such as buffer size and sample rate. A small sample of sessions also sends anonymous performance measurements. In the app, but not in the plug-in, a report can include a screenshot of the app with all text masked. The app also sends basic session statistics (that a session started and whether it ended in a crash), technical log lines about errors at warning level and above, and, in the app but not in the plug-in, Apple MetricKit diagnostics. The Sentry library creates a random installation ID that is not linked to your name, email or Apple Account. File names and paths are removed before a report is sent. Reports contain no name, email, account or advertising ID, cannot be linked to you and are never used for tracking. Sentry deletes them after 90 days.
Legal basis and processor
Crash reports rely on our legitimate interest in keeping the app working (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). Sentry is our processor under a data processing agreement. Sentry may not use the data for its own purposes and must protect it at least as well as this policy and Apple’s guidelines require. The app contains no other third-party SDKs for analytics, advertising or tracking.
Purchases
Once launched, Pulsark is bought on the App Store. Apple handles payment, and we receive no payment details about you.
Newsletter
Newsletter sign-up happens on pulsark.app and collects your email address. How it is handled is described at pulsark.app/privacy.
Children
Pulsark is a music tool for a general audience and collects no personal data from anyone, children included.
Rights and contact
We hold no personal data about you from the app. Send privacy questions to post (at) vaagfabrikat (dot) no. To object to crash reporting (GDPR Article 21) or ask us to delete reports from your device, write to the same address with the device model and an approximate time. We delete matching reports within 30 days. You can also complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (datatilsynet.no). If the way the app handles data changes, we will update this page and mention it in the App Store release notes.
